5 Hot Rods for The History Books

Since the very beginning days of the automobile, people have worked tirelessly to sharpen them up and turn them into high speed monsters that can overtake all others on the road.   1. 1955 Chevrolet Nomad

5In 1955, Chevrolet started advertising the Nomad and made sure that people knew it came fully equipped with a 162 horsepower engine with a short stroke design and soft carpet loaded throughput the interior that made it nice and comfy when riding or driving. This car not only looked great but the powerful engine made it one that was in high demand from the moment it rolled out on the showroom floor. 2.1954 Plymouth Savoy

2In 1954 Plymouth introduced the Savoy. This car was introduced as a 2 door coupe for the bachelor or a 2 or 4 door sedan for the family. It was made available at a price that was affordable to the working man that wanted a car he could cruise down the strip in or take a date out for a night at the movies. The engine was a 3.6 Liter and it came with a 2 or 3 speed manual transmission.

1When it comes to hot rods that will go down in history, the 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Fastback easily slides into the number 1 spot of all time. This car was heavier than previous Mustangs and had a much stronger engine that made the car one of the fastest, if not the fastest, car on the road in 1967. It had a longer hood and far tougher appearance than the 1965 Mustang, which was also quite the popular automobile of its time. The overall design was based on the 1967 Mustang Fastback but this speed demon was fully equipped with a 428 cu V8 engine that was tough as steel and lightning fast on the highway. Today, this classic hot rod is one of the most popular car to see at shows and events around the world and it is not easy to find one that is in excellent condition.
